Throughout the year, the Association offers trips accompanied by the best specialists, series of courses on contemporary creation, guided tours of exhibitions at the MAMCO and at partner museums, meetings with collectors, visits to artists’ studios, and many other one-off events organized around the MAMCO’s current events.
Traveling
Each year, the Association offers its members several cultural trips, accompanied by a MAMCO curator or external colleagues. These trips are opportunities to discover contemporary art in a privileged way, involving encounters with artists, visits to studios and private collections, each time resulting in enriching exchanges with professionals from different cultures. By sharing its favorites with you, the Association gives you the opportunity to make new discoveries.
In view of the current situation related to the global spread of COVID-19, the Friends of MAMCO committee has decided to postpone the planned trips this year.
This decision follows the cancellation conditions of the various travel service providers and the uncertainty as to the opening to the public of the selected museums and institutions.
Those registered for the trip From Lombardy to Ticino, from 1 to 3 May 2020, will receive a full refund.
New dates will be proposed as soon as the situation is more favorable.
Lectures
The Association offers a series of four lectures on contemporary art, given by MAMCO employees and external lecturers, in connection with the MAMCO’s exhibition programming or with their own themes.
The programme is carefully developed by MAMCO’s staff to meet our attendants’ requirement level, while renewing their pleasure of discovery and exchange.
Hours
Monday from 12:15 to 1:45 p.m. or from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. (series 2, 3,4) and according to the defined schedule.
Monday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. or from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. (series 1) and according to the defined schedule.
The Association reserves the right to cancel the evening slot based on the number of registrations.

Other activites
The Association organizes several visits to the MAMCO for each exhibition cycle with commentary by the visitors’ service, at noon or in that evening during nocturnes. In the framework of collaborations with other Friends’ associations, it also offers you the opportunity to discover the major exhibitions presented in Geneva. It also organizes visits to artists’ studios accompanied by a MAMCO curator, visits to private collections and many other events depending on the MAMCO’s current events.
